EMERGENCY SERVICES COMMITTEE
OCTOBER 26,2015

Safety Mill Levy
Doug stated he had invited the residents and voters who attended the Town Hall meeting last Tuesday,
October 20th to the EMS meeting tonight, if they had any further questions. There was no one in
attendance tonight from that meeting.
Doug mentioned he feels the committee has done their best and all they could do to provide the public
with information. They sent fliers out with water bills and placed an editorial in the Laurel Outlook. He
appreciated comments at the Town Hall meeting from the department heads and the committee members.
He pointed out Chief Musson's comment when someone asked what would be next if this mill levy
doesn't pass, and Chief Musson stated there is no plan B.
Doug thanked everyone for their hard work in putting the Safety Mill Levy forward. He thanked them for
sharing their knowledge and expressing concerns for the future of the city when answering questions of
the public.
Cardiac AED's Grant
Kara stated a project like this requires a lot of work and there has been a lot of time put into it. For now,
many other items are being taken care of and waiting for the direction of the department. The grant is
being worked on in any spare time they have and their plan is to make Cardiac AED's available in public
buildings.
