Dick explained that earlier this year the city did a Request for Proposal (RFP) for bid on a
sprinkler system. We received one bid from Carl Thuesen, ASLA. Their estimate for the
sprinkler design was $14,500.00.
The commission would like to get the sprinkler design in place then come back and do an
RFP for a long term design study for the cemetery. Steve knew of a local person who
was possibly interested in the sprinkler design but he later declined.
Discussion about going out to the following vendors; Northwest Pipe, Rainbird Sprinkler
Systems, 2M Company, Midland Implement and any others, to have Steve contact them
to design a sprinkler system for materials and cost.
Motion by Loyd to set our next meeting for September 22nd at 5:00 p.m. at which time we
will review the completed written reports and be prepared to make a recommendation to
the city council for the design, seconded by Chuck. Motion carried.
The commission requests that Steve review with Dick this approach to the design, the
proposal time line and make changes that he feels are necessary.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, September 22na at 5:00 p.m. in the council
meeting room.
