Old BUSINESS
• Christmas Decorations- Marcia called the company we bought the decorations from and
they suggested a stronger strapping. It will cost about $130 for 15 decorations, with the
connectors. Moved to approve the expense from the Decoration Fund, moved Sandy, 2nd-
Annie. Approved. Dennis has been contacted to repair the 2 sets that fell last year. Marcia
also asked for volunteers to set up. Cindy, Molly, Christy, and Mary Lou all volunteered.
• Laurel Downtown Farmers' Market - Jean Carroll, our market master, gave a report.
She said that the Laurel Woman's Club would like to be the market master again. She
would like a meeting in April to discuss the 2016 Market and to line up some ideas of ways
to get more people shopping. She would like to set up some demonstrations and some
entertainment.
• Chamber Sign - Amanda's husband said he would look at it and see what he could do.
We would like to attach it to the concrete pad that is already out front.
New BUSINESS
• The Cloud In-Service- Marcia attended a lunch & learn at Entre Technologies. Office 365
includes cloud backup and multiple computer sharing. We now have our newsletter and
our web page "in the cloud", so they can be worked on anywhere. Entre presented Office
365 as a paid monthly software. Marcia believes we can get it free through a tech soup
grant. Amanda has used Office 365 and really likes it. We have one computer, except in
the summer, and it may not be worth the transition.
• 2016 Board Members - The Chamber needs to fill 2 board positions, one is Christy and
the other is a 2 year term. Everyone was asked for nominations. An announcement will
also be put in the newsletter.
• Budget Committee - Molly would like to meet with the budget committee to set up next
year's budget. The new board members have not yet chosen a committee to be on, so a
list will be sent out so they can chose.
• July 4th Committee - See committee information above. The committee would like to
meet in Feb. and discuss early plans. Molly and Marcia also attended the city council
workshop where the cost of the 4th to the city was discussed. The city is pulling figures
together on what it costs.
