I would like to take this opportunity m clarify a couple of points aborn the reasons for change and maybe lay to rest some of your concerns, as well as the neighbors. First of all, let me preface the zoning request for Community Commercial Block 3, Lots 1-6. My intent is to domate Block 7 to St. John's for ~ assisted living cottages. I have made that oDrnrnlt~3.ellt tO Raem fi~om the very. beginning, so no pun:ha.se agreement will be made. Now the reason for my zoning request in Block 3, Lots 1-6 is so that two apartment complexes can be designed. The first complex te be constructed on lots 1 & 2 and the second complex on lots 5 & 6. The complex will have connecting corridors and some interior common living space, much like St. John-q will be proposing, bm on a larger scale and more limited services. Lots 3 & 4 may be a joint venture project with St. John's for a cormnunity center with apartments however no final deal has been struck at this time. It is my understanding that all commercial development has to be approved by you at a later date before we would proceed v~th construction. The issue of Block 2, Lots 1-17 is simpler. Our development needs more lot coverage to accommodate Iarger floor plans. With the new zoning designation, 2-car garages and uniformity in building design would be available. This project is moving forward nicely and with your help, it will be a memendous asset to the City of Laurel. Sincerely,
