ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13.12. 040 OF THE LAUREL
MUNICIPAL CODE, SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT FEE
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Laurel, Montana, that Section 13.12.040 of the Laurel Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 13.12.040. System Development Fee.
Any new hookup to the municipal sewer system shall pay a
charge to the city which will be deposited in the sewer replacement
fund as follows:
A. Residential. A single family residential unit shall be
charged a sewer hookup fee on a four inch sewer service line. If
the unit is a duplex, triplex or four-plex, the unit will pay an
additional sewer hookup charge for each additional unit. For a six
inch sewer service line there shall be charged a sewer hookup fee
to the first residential unit and an additional sewer hookup charge
for each additional unit therein. The fee shall be established by
resolution and may be changed through the sewer rate increase
process.
B. Commercial. A commercial unit shall be charged a sewer
hookup fee based upon the size of the water meter which services
the unit. The fee shall be established by resolution and may be
changed through the sewer rate increase process.
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after
final passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
Introduced and passed on first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 15th day of October , 1996,
upon a motion by Alderman Kilpa~rick
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on second
reading this 6th day of November , 1996, upon a
motion by Alderman Kroll
