Dick explained this meeting was called in order for the Cemetery Commission to make a
recommendation to implement the design of a sprinkling system for the Laurel Cemetery.
The city put out a Request for Proposal (RFP) and received one from Carl Thuesen,
ASLA. Their initial estimate for a design is $14,000.00 and the cost of the sprinkler
systems is $250,000.00 to $300,000.00 for a fully automated system.
Dick stated another design option has become available so the recommendation to the
council will be delayed until the option has been explored.
