OTHERS PRESENT: Kelly Strecker Kurt Markegard

State Urban Route:
Kurt stated that Great West Engineering did an estimate free of charge on what this project would cost.
This project would complete West Railroad Street with curb, gutter, and side walk. The estimate that
came in was approximately $2,985,000. He stated that the TIFD would like to see East Railroad Street
completed as well and would help with funding. Kurt will meet with the state construction manager to see
what else needs to be done to move forward with the project. He said that this project is not on the State's
list yet but is hoping by next year to get the project started.
Update Storm District:
Kurt stated this would have to go to the vote of the tax payers, just like the street maintenance did. He said
that the council can't vote to determine a district.
SE 4t" St Striping:
Kurt stated that this project has been out for bid, but no one was interested. He said they decided to go out
for quotes to see how much interest was out there and again no one was interested. Kurt said they will go
out for bid on this again in January to see if they can get some interest. He is hoping someone will put in a
bid especially if contractors are not busy that time of year.
Update on South Washington Ave Project:
Kurt stated that seven bids came in for this project. The low bid came in from Western Municipal
Construction Inc. This bid will go to City Council for approval on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.
Construction on this project will start immediately.
Disbanding certain committees:
Emelie stated that Dan Clark was at one of the council meetings and talked to the council about
disbanding committees. She asked the Public Works Committee three questions. 1. Do we need this
committee? 2. Is the committee getting anything out of these meetings? 3. Can Kurt do it all himself?
There was discussion and the committee decided to keep this committee in place.
Other:
There were a few questions regarding code enforcement issues. A list was generated and Kelly will give it
to Keith on Tuesday morning.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
