Subject: Increase Funding For Urban Areas
At the Transportation Commission meeting on December 10, 2004 the Transportation
Commission approved increased funding for urban areas. The Commission approved a
$2.6 million increase to the existing $8.2 million amtual STP-Urban allocation beginning
in FFY 2005 (October 1, 2004). These funds are distributed on a per capita basis and
result in a 31.7% increase in STP-Urban funds for each urban area. As a result of this,
Laurel's new annual STP-Urban allocation is $202,900.
Attached for your information is a copy of the latest Urban Highway Construction
Program Summary, which reflects this new allocation, funding balances through FFY
2010, and existing priorities.
