RE: June 2005 Legislative Update and Accounting Seminar
The Department of Administration, Local Government Services Bureau, will be conducting
training seminars at various locations throughout the State in June. A portion of the day will be
dedicated to updating the attendees on legislation passed during the 2005 Legislative Session that
has an impact on local government accounting policies and procedures. The major portion o£ the
seminar, however, will be spent revisiting the GASB #34 reporting requirements. During that
time, we will go through an example of a completed GASB #34 report in detail fi-om start to fmish
using the Excel spreadsheet that has been made available to local govcn-mnents.
We would appreciate it if you would make this seminar information available to other entity
officials and department heads. You are also invited to bring any other questions or concerns to
the seminars.
A list of seminar locations and dates is attached. Please return the enclosed registration form to the
Helena office by May 20, 2005, -Starting time for all seminars will be 8:30 a.m. and we will finish
