AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA, ELECTING TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE MUNICIPAL POLICE OFFICERS' RETIREMENT
SYSTEM (STATEWIDE PLAN) UNDER SECTION 19 -9 -207, M.C.A.,
AND REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES,
OR CODE SECTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City council of the City of
Laurel Montana:
Section 1. That from and after the passage and approval of
this ordinance and from and after the effective date of this
ordinance, the Police Department of the City of Laurel, Montana,
shall be under, subject to and within the provisions of the
Municipal Police Officers' Retirement System (Statewide Plan) Laws
of the State of Montana, as set forth in Title 19, Chapters 2 and
9, M.C.A. and all amendments thereto. The said Police Department
Retirement System shall be managed, conducted, governed, and
controlled as in said state law and this ordinance provided.
Section 2. All other ordinances, parts of ordinances, and /or
code sections in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
30 days after its passage by the City Council and approval of the
Mayor thereof.
Introduced and passed on first reading at a regular meeting
of the City Council on August 18 , 1998, by Alderman
Kroll
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on second
reading this 1st day of September , 1998, upon motion
of Alderman Walton
