Dear City Council Members: :
The Laurel Chamber of Co~e~ ~ouid like to reqUeSt ~ssi0n to sponsor the
Culpepper & MerriWeather C~?~ 10n SundaY;~ J~ 12, 2~5ht ~e old North School Lot
owned by Vince and Debbig ~i 0n First Avaniae and 7a street. We have received
permission from Vmce:pd~¢! for ~ cm0us to be he!d on this land. The circus will set up
the big top on:the m0r°jng of june i:2~ and:will hold two showsi the first at 2 p m and
the last at 4:30 p.m. ).~tex ~ last Sho% the circus Will 10ad up and leave the area.
The Chamber has agreed to purcha_sea Laurel BusinesS liegnse ;for the circus. We will
need to provide the circus with one ~g ~ater SOurce ~d it is our hope to gain
permission from the City to use one of the water hydrants in:th!sarea fo~ INs purpose. It
is also our hope that someone from the Fire Department will set ~ up foie:the Circus.
The circus uses about 1,200 gallons of water and the Chambe~ woula ~e ;eSP°nsible for
payment for INs water. The Chamber also has to provide a refuse container for trash and
animal manure. Total capacity needs to be five to six cubic yards. It is our hope that the
City Publ!c Works Department would provide and remove this container.
Please let us know your decision into these matters as soon as possible.
