training assignment for fellow co-workers with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, (MTDEQ).
Employees at MTDEQ are subject to regular job performance evaluations and part of the future training for two
of my co-workers, was to visit a surfaee water treatment facility. A new Water Quality Specialist, Kerry
Schmelzer and our Administrative Clerk, Cookie Coats were selected to attend this training. I arranged for a visit
to the Laurel plant with Tim Reiter. Tim gave us a thorough tour of the entire water plant and made sure he
answered any questions we had. The technical expertise and professionalism that Tim demonstrated is worth
mentioning m a letter of appreciation. We all enjoyed the visit and more importantly will be able to perform our
jobs better because of it.
I want to thank Tim and the operators at the Laurel Water Treatment Facility for allowing us to disrupt their daily
schedule of important duties to help us gain a better understanding of a surface water system.
