Dear Council Members:
Cable Montana prides itself in the commitment it makes to bring the
residents of Laurel the best value in cable television over the competition. Each
customer is important to us, and we know they want to receive the best value for
their entertainment dollar.
We have always taken aggressive steps to keep operating expenses to a
minimum. However, we continue to have rising costs in fees paid to
programmers such as Fox Sports, which increased over 30% in 2005, along with
increased costs for equipment, fuel, employee costs, and repairs. Rate increases
are never popular, however, it has become necessary for us to increase the
expanded basic service by $1.00 per month. This rate adjustment will be in
effect with the first cable payment due March 1, 2005. Customers have been
notified of this change through their February statement.
It is always part of our commitment to deliver better programming to our
customers. In order to expand the programming options, during the month of
February, we will be adding National Geographic to channel 63.
