HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Chamber of Commerce (34) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes The Meeting was held on July 9th at Sid's. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President- Christy Williams,VP- Molly Conrad, Co-VP- Holly Anderson and executive secretary- Marcia Hainer. Directors: Dee Dee Crider for Donnie McVee,Sandy Reese,Amanda Powell,Annie Seaman. Members: Brian Larson, Kathleen Gilluly and David Keyes. Christy called the meeting to order. The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Molly, 2nd - Holly. The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve- Molly, 2nd - Amanda. Old BUSINESS • July 4th- Marcia reported on the July 4th Celebration and a profit and loss was distributed. Feedback on the new Parade Route was all positive. Some suggestions were to require more information on the sign up; such as # of vehicles and size. The food vendors reported a slow noon hour, but it picked up into the evening. A new vendor already has requested to be in next year's celebration. Grace Bible Church stayed into the evening and sold parking passes for the lot. It was decided to pay them the extra that they made that evening. $640 moved by Annie, 2nd- Molly. Approved. Marcia will get feedback from the craft vendors and the runners. New BUSINESS • Guests- Introduced Brian Larson from Yellowstone Bank, Kathleen Gilluly and David Keyes from the Laurel Outlook. David discussed the Best of Laurel promotion the Outlook will be doing. • Farmers' Market - Laurel Downtown Farmers' Market starts on July 15th. The Woman's Club will be the Market Masters again. On the recommendation of the vendors, the hours will change from 4-6pm to 4-6:30pm. The Ad is in the Outlook and on the webpage and in the newsletter. • Meeting time- It was decided to move the meetings back to noon meetings. Moved - Amanda, 2nd-Annie. Approved. OPEN FORUM • Business after Hours -. o August - Canyon Creek Station will be having an Open House August 12th, 5-7pm Interstate Bank will be having an Open House August 19th, 5-7pm They would also like a ribbon cutting at that time. o September - o October - Meeting Adjourned Next meeting - August 13, 2015 The Palace Laurel Chamber of Commerce August 13th, 2015 at the Palace Moment of Silence Presentation of minutes: Guest Speaker - Don Sorenson- Looking to build a race track near Laurel. Financial Report - Yellowstone Checking - $ 43,859.45 Altana Saving $ 747.65 Christmas Repair Fund $ 2,867.04 TOTAL $ 47,474.14 Bills to be Presented for payment: - done to date Laurel Outlook (Farmers Market) $ 104.25 OLD BUSINESS • Final report on July 4"'- • Filling out Board - Brian Renier-Altana FCU rep. He will be taking Mona Rae's spot. • Farmers' Market- Going ok, still need more customers and more vendors. • Run T-Shirts -for sale. NEW BUSINESS - • Christmas Decorations- We had 2 sets fall down last year and they will need to be repaired. Ribbon Cuttings Interstate Bank -August 19th at 5:30. Who can make it?
