ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REQUIREMENTS
FOR HOME OCCUPATIONS
WHEREAS; the City of Lanrel believes that the ordinances regulating the granting of
home occupational licenses;
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Laurel, Montana, that
the LAUREL MUNICII~AL CODE is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 1 Changes to following sections shall be as follow:
Section 17.52.030.A. 3 No alteration of the
~ dwelling unit or accessory buildings that change the character thereof as
residential. If the activtiy for which a Home Occupation is requested is conducted at the
residence, it shall be conducted wholly within the dwelling or an accessory building.
Section 17.52.030.B.3 Furniture, electronics, and appliance sales, repair o~ renovation
and storage.

The following are hereby declared to be customa~ home
Model homes in new developments for the purpose of maintaining an office during
the period of development; upon on hundred percent completion of the project, the
model home shall be used solely for dwelling purposes.

the Planning Board for a home occupation on an application form provided by the City. This
written ~appBcation shall be submitted to the planning board seven working days prior to
their regularly scheduled meeting.
Section 1Z52.030.F Violation of the conditions and terms of the approval of the
granting ora home occupation by the applicant after the home occupation has been granted
shall be grounds for revocation of such approval and, if in the City, revocation or non-renewal
of the city Business License.
Section 2:
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final passage by the
City Council and approved by the Mayor.
