Letter from the SecretarF
I would like to take this oppommity to thank all
for being so halpfu] and understandln~ during
my illness. 1 became sick on May 27"' with a
sU'epp infection in my ankle and had surgery.
While in thc hospital, it was found that I also had
a lung infection. A staff infection moved into
my ankle after I was released from the hospital.
Because 1 was on in~ravenous medications, I was
not able to return to work at the Chamber anti]
the middle of July. During this time, the Board
of Directors of the Chamber had to take over all
of my duties with most of the work falling on
President Bob O'Dea and Vice President Sharyl
Brester. The Fourth of July Parade and Chief
Joseph Run turned out emremely well thanks to
their efforts and the efforts of the rest of the
Board, and especially Fourth of July Committee
Chairman Ryan Burrows and his secretary Linda
McVay. During this time, I found out just how
much I enjoy working at the Chamber especially
during the Fourth of July. I would like to thank
everyone for the flowers, cards, and phone calls
during my illness. I am truly grateful for the
many fi'lands 1 have made while working at :the
Laurel Chamber of Commerce. I am so happy to
be back!!! Sincerely, Klm Wombolt
