PLANNING BOARD
MINUTES OF AUGUST 12, 2004
Members present: Shay, Ruff, Linder, Koch, Johnson, and Maack.
Dan K moved to approve the minutes of the last meeting as presented with second by Dan R.;
motion carried.
Gerry's term as member at large has expired. After discussion, Dan K. moved and Bud
seconded to reappoint him; motion carried.
Craig Reeder explained his request for annexation, and Cai explained the requirements of State
Statute and City Code. Corrections and clarifications to the application include the fact that the
site is already zoned R7500 and not change is planned in that zoning. Also the $4500 cost of
extension of services is for both water and sewer as is per buildable lot (which takes at least two
of the existing small lots). It will be the responsibility of the lot buyers to pay for the water and
sewer. The street is already paved in front of the lots. Bud moved with a second by Dan K. to
recommend approval of the annexation to the City Council; motion carried. This will go before
Council on September 7th.
A memorial to Laurel Haggert was discussed, and it was decided that Bud, Jerry, and Cal would
do something, as the other present members of the Board had never even met her. Laurel died
while serving on the Board.
Tom Maack was introduced as the latest member of the Board.
An opportunity for the public to speak was offered; no response.
