Sol c oessler
Other's present:
, Albert Ehrlick, Lyle Jones,
A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
Rob Harris reported that the new building at the cemetery is
about done and Sol has been moving things back in.
Discussion regarding locking the gates at the cemetery -ein the
evening.' The City Council passed an ordinance setting the hours,
now the problem is getting someone to lock the gates in the
evening and open them up again in the morning. Albert to talk
to Alan Crowe to see if the police could do this.
Rob reported that Nathan Blaylock was hired to help Sol get
the cemetery ready for Memorial Day. It was also decided
that after. Memorial Day,,when the work slows up a little bit,
to have Nathan help Sol- go through the newer sections of the
cemetery and stake out.each grave. Sol to keep track of
Nathan's hours to make sure he doesn't go over the budget.
There is approximately 100 hours left.
It was also suggested that Sol and Nathan go through all sections
of the cemetery to check the headstones for burials to update
City Hall records.
It was brought up that a Mr. Rex Weiss-purchased 3 lots back in
1957. In 1959 two of the lots were returned to the City for non-
payment. In the meantime the Weiss' have put up a headstone on
all three lots. One of the two returned lots has since been sold
to someone else. but it appears there is still room for two more
burials. It was the decision of the Board that if the Weiss'
still want these two lots they must pay the current price for
the lots.
Discussion regarding headstones. It appears that some of the
monument companies and possibly individuals setting stones are
not abiding by the rules and regulations. It was suggested
raising the fine from $25.00 to $100.00 and also making the
regulations the same in all sections. All members were given
copies of the rules and regulations to look over and make sug-
gestions for possible changes.
• The next meeting to be held during the week of June 20th with
everyone meeting at the cemetery.
Meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
