AMENDING CHAPTER 15.40 OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE,
TO ADOPT THE NFPA 1 UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 2003 EDITION.
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, that
Section 15.40 of the Laurel Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
15.40.010 Adoption.
The NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code, -1x)97 2003 Edition, recommended by +Ze Inte~.~ona!
National Fire Protection Association, toge~er wi~ ~y appendix or subsequent mendments or
additions ~ereto, adopted or as may be adopted in ~e ~e by ~e Montana State Building Codes
B~eau, as applicable to local gove~ents, is adopted ~d decl~ed to be ~e fire code of the city
for the p~ose of regulating ~d governing conditions h~ardous to life ~d prope~y ~om fire or
explosion.
One ~ly printed copy of the code shall be available in ~e offices of the city. The
aforesaid, NFPA 1 Unifo~ Fire Code, 2003 Edition is adopted by reference ~d made a p~ of this
c~pter as ~lly, ~d for all intents ~d p~oses, ~ ~ou~ set fo~h herein at length. It shall be
kno~ ~d desi~ated as ~e "Unifom Fire Code" of the m~icipality.
15.40.020 Updated references.
The aforesaid NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code, 2003 Edition, described in Section 15.40.010, is
amended by the additions, deletions and modifications set forth in the following sections of this
chapter.
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final passage by the City
Council and approval by the Mayor.
Introduced and passed on first reading at a regular meeting of the Laurel City Council on
July 6 ,2004, by Alderman Dart
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on second reading this 3rd day of
August ,2004, upon a motion by Alderman Dart
APPROVED by the Mayor this 3rd day of August ,2004.
