Dear Frank,
Please find enclosed a signed change order #1 and #2 for the City of Laurel's Wastewater
Improvements Project. The City decided to move forward with the change order for the
additional 2 blocks of sewer (change order #1).
Change Order #2 addresses some additional street restoration. The original contract
documents required that the streets be replaced back into their original condition. Since
Aider Avenue was in such poor condition before the project, there was some concern as
to leaving it in such a poor condition. Therefore, the City decided to complete some
additional street restoration as a part of the project. The funds for the street restoration
will come entirely fi.om City funds.
Just for a brief update on the project: the project has been moving very quickly.
Construction thus far has been ahead of schedule. The new sewer lines are nearly
complete with primarily the street restoration remaining (with the exception of the change
order work). COP Construction is waiting for some materials to come in before
beginning the lift station work. It is anticipated that the lift station work will begin in
early August.
