This startling sta'dstic caused the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), to launch the National Child Identification Program (NCR)P). The FBI has pat'me'ted with the AFCA in this not-for-profit program with the goal of providing inki~ss fingoprint identification (ID) kits to all 60 million children in the United States. National Night Out has also joined in this effort by partnehng with thc AFCA's NCIDp in an cqt'or t to ina-ease awareness for child safety. The National Association of Town Watch introduced National Night Om, 'America's Night Out Against Crime,' in 1984 Rd continues to heighten awareness and ste~ngthen participation in anti-crime efforts throughout communities nationwide. National Night Out and the FBI want to set a record on August 3, 2004, for the most NCIDP kit~ distributed within a single day in history.
