Alder Avenue paving proiect - additional two blocks for grant · Discussion regarding the project · Discussion regarding replacement of some curb boxes and gutter using funds from the water line replacement fund Port-a-pots for July 4th · Steve asked regarding where to bill the port-a-pots. · Mayor and Steve will discuss after the department head meeting. Street maintenance district resolution · Street maintenance district resolution is in process. · Resolution will be on the June 29th council workshop agenda. Police car · 1997 Chevy Lumina (Car #3) blew the engine. · Not worth the dollars to replace the engine · Vehicle will be on the surplus list. Fire Season Contracting Care 2 · Received a request for ambulances on the f~re lines for the fire season · $750/day · City of Laurel will not participate this year. · Discussion regarding liability Department Head Meeting Minutes of June 15, 2004 o Need to check with MMIA · Care 2 should be back in service on Wednesday. Fire department: control of Thomson Park on July 4tra · Discussion regarding control of Thomson Park o One organization cannot have control ora public park. o Fire department will have control of the sound system in the park starting at 6:00 p.m. · Discussion regarding a 4th of July Committee o Need to start up the committee for 2005 4th of July activities · Discussion regarding a noise ordinance o Construction companies - hours o Sound systems in vehicles o Concerts in parks o Street dance o City of Billings has a noise ordinance. o Emergency Services Committee needs to address the issue. Fire code · Ordinance allows building codes to be approved by administrative order. · Fire codes are not included in the ordinance. · Fire codes will be on the council workshop agenda on June 29m. Fire training grounds at old city landfill · Montana Rail Link has donated two box cars. · Fire departrncnt requested permission to set them up at thc landfill. · Smoke house will use machine smoke. · Fire department and Steve will work out the details. Montana Shared Catalog · Laurel was picked to receive assistance to join the consortium of libraries to get the catalog on line. · Twenty-three libraries will participate. · Cost of $3,400 · Peg is trying to purchase the peripherals in this year's budget. · All books will need new barcodes. · Cash match is available in the grants fund. · Should be finished in November Procurement Policy update · Procurement policy is progressing. Other · Discussion regarding surplus auction 2 DepaCanent Head Meeting Minutes of June 15, 2004 o Lists of surplus items (item and tag number) need to be submitted to Mary by June 29th. · Discussion regarding the Freedom Jam on July 4th o Located in the Ricci's lot o Discussion regarding closing streets · Freedom Jam people need to submit a written request for street closures. o Vendors need to obtain business licenses. o Discussion regarding helicopter landing in the lot. · Discussion regarding a noise ordinance o Emergency Services Committee needs to review and address. · Discussion regarding street closures for the Jaycees street dance on July 3rd o Jaycees have not submitted a request yet. · Discussion regarding Town Square o No Skateboarding signs need to be posted. o Water meter needs to be installed. · Information from department heads o Nathan needs the information by July 16th. o Presentation on cash flows will be presented to the council on June 30th.
