Minutes
February 2015 minutes were presented. Bruce motioned to approve the minutes as read, Rose Marie
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Correspondence
A check was received for the Federation from the Montana State Library in the amount of$718.09. This
is the share of the Coal Severance Tax funds given to Golden Valley County. Since there is no library in
Golden Valley the funds are sent to the Federation headquarters to be distributed as the Federation
members feel would be the best use of these monies. Last year the funds were donated to
MontanaLibrary2Go so that everyone in the Federation, especially Golden Valley, would benefit. Nancy
will present this information at the next Federation meeting for disbursement.
Circulation Report—compared to same time period last year...
Traffic: down 4.34%; circulation: all items circulated totaled 2,601 (including 214 eBooks), book
circulation was down 22.31%, media circulation was down 12.21%, eBook checkouts for this month
was 9.46%of total book circulation; computers: internet use was down 17.67%, children's use was
down 18.75%,wi-fi use up 24.1%; patron cards: city patrons accounted for 62.74%of registered users,
county was 28.48%of registered users and out-of-county accounted for 8.7%. There were 49 recorded
technology assists for January.
Old Business
Nancy reported that the budget is finished and turned in to the Clerk's office. The budget amounts were
reviewed by Rose Marie before submission. There is a meeting scheduled for March 12, 2015 to review
the budget with City Clerk Shirley Ewan and CAO Heidi Jensen. Nancy will report the results next
month.
The furnace on the north side of the building has been replace and is working very well. Nancy is going
to ask for the funds to replace the furnace on the south side of the building next year.
The health presentations by Dr. Madrid are going well. We have taken a count at each presentation for
statistics. There has been an average of 4 attendees each week.
New Business
Spring Federation meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 21st, 9—4 at the Joliet Public Library. All
trustees are encouraged to attend. The agenda includes adoption of the annual Plan of Service,
readmission of Denton to active status, and the date&place of the fall meeting.
Nancy will be attending Montana Library Association conference in Bozeman, April 8-11, 2015. She
will report on the workshops at the next meeting.
The Laurel Federated Woman's Club will be hosting their annual Easter Play and Egg Hunt on
Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 1:00 pm. The request has been made that the play be no longer than 15
minutes to retain the attention of the children.

Bruce motioned that the Board meeting be closed, Dixie seconded the motion. Motion passed. Meeting
ended at 6:17 pm.
