This V/MD Exercise will involve a simulated terrorist gas release on a west end shopping mall on Sunday afternoon and a terrorist truck bomb explosion at ConocoPhillips Refinery on Monday morning. Also on Monday morning two other truck bombs intended for the other two refineries diverted and drove to two high school parla'ng lots and the driver parked by the school and then was an intruder in the schools. The schools will exercise their disaster (crisis)plans for this exercise. The EOC will be activated and it will be a crucial management component in this exercise. You couM have a critical role in the EOC and the LEPC (Local Emergency Planning Committee)'would like to offer this training so you are better prepared when (and if) an actual event ocburred. In an actual event you wouM be called to the EOC as needed. However, for this exercise in order to save time and enhance the training, we are asking that you just report to the EOC at the times mentioned above. Since space is limited in the EOC, attendance is limited to yourself or one of your key staff persons in your absence. Please RSVP to the DES Office (236-2775) by March 17th, 2004.
