Box 10 Laurel, MT 59044 ~__ CITY OF LgUREL RE: Laurel Wastewater Improvements Dear Mayor and Council, We are in the process of beginning the Wastewater Improvements startup required by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. As a part of the startup, CDBG requires that a council member be named as the environmental certifying official for the project. Although we will do the environmental work, this person would be responsible for sign/ne the work. CDBG recommends the chief elected official be designated as the certifying official. In addition, CDBG requires a budgetary authority resolution be passed. We would appreciate it if you could include the naming of the certifying official at your next meeting per a motion by the Council. Enclosed please find a copy of the prepared budgetary resolution and a letter naming Mayor John E. Johnson, Jr., as the environmental certifying official. If the mayor is not the named official, please use the letter as a template filling in the appropriate name. Please send me copies of both the letter and the resolution in addition to sending the letter to CDBG. Thank you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
