Dear Laurel Chamber of Commerce Member:
The Laurel Chamber of Commerce BUdget Committee recently met in order to discuss
the financial condition of your Chamber, For the last three years, the billing for
membership dues has been done earlier each year in order to get through until the end of
the year. The Chamber has done this to keep dues rates at the lowest in the stale.
The Budget Committee is asking every member to help out with a one-time assessment in
the amount of $25.00 or more. This is avoluntary assessment and will not have any
bearing on each member's status with the Laurel Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber membersNp dues have not been increased for quite a number of years. The
Budget Committee found that it is time to raise dues to maintain our Chamber office,
Visitor Information Center, and mini museum as Well as the wages of the Chamber
secretary. To ease anySmpact 0n our members, the Committee is raising the dues by
10% per year for the next three years.
