BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE
MARCH 16, 1999 4:30 P.M.

Discussed revised budget schedule and made three date changes.
City is on track with Y2K upgrade.
One purchase requisition for $3,200 for two six-inch plug valves for the sewer fund was
approved.
Reviewed the overtime report for PPE 3-10-99.
Discussed computer systems. It was suggested that Bud and Chuck attend a Black
Mountain Software Workshop that will be put on during the Institute in Billings in
April.
Don brought up the manual cash transfers to the Fire Department Capital Projects Fund
from the contract revenues. It is allowed that 10% of the tmxes collected can be
transferred to Capital Projects. Don recommended that $30,000 needs to be identified
before transfer. A resolution needs to be prepared for that purpose.
Don said that a printout of the initial preliminary budget should be completed by Friday.
Discussion about the legislature and how it will affect the budget process. We may
have information by April's Institute. There will be a BARS Legislative Update in
June.~ Discussion on strategy on how to deal with possible reduced revenues in
preparing this year's budget.
Mayor asked about the status of the survey of the cemetery.
