Minutes of January 10, 2002
Members present: Johnson, McC~mn, Strizich, Jonutis, Baumgartner, R, icci, Easton,
Smith, and Cumin.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as distributed.
Land use mapping for the area was discussed. Cai has included the land use to include
the Airport Zoning Area. The land use inventory and maps are in three components,
which can be combined: the Laurel Zoning Jurisdictional Area, East Laurel (Mossmain
area), and ~he Airport area. The mapping of land use in this area will continue to be
refined. For example, instead of using city-lot-size symbols to represent residential units,
the data may use State Department of l~evenue symbology and information as to housing
unit, valuation, whether it's a mobile home, etc. The mapping is done with AP~CINFO
software which only the County GIS Department can manipulate. Much of the original
mapping was done using ARCVIEW which, we learned the hard way, is not compatible
with ARCVIEW.
The collected recommendations of all the individual s~udies that have been done during
the TCSP process were handed out. The OC needs to determine which it wants to
forward to the City for approval and adoption. Rather than try and sort through the
overlapping recommendations, Cai is to sort out redundancies and group by general
subject and bring to the next meeting. The OC will try and determine priorities at that
time.
Cumin Associates presented an invoice for work done totaling $1,925.00. Smith moved
to approve with Easton seconded; motion carried. Budget status sheets were handed out.
Putting the various components nfthe plan that have been done onto a CD was discussed
as a final plan format. A preliminary draft format is still being considered.
The TCSP website is being transferred to the Laurel web page.
