MINUTES OF OCTOBER 11, 2001 MEETING
Members present: John Smith, Ken Olson, Stan Jonutis, Kate Stevenson, Gay Easton,
Bud Johnson, Kathleen Baumgarmer, Diana Walker, Carol Strizich, Cal Cumin, and
Larry McCann.
The minutes of the September 13, 2001 meeting were approved as presented.
Fischer and Associates presented the final report of the South First Avenue Streetscape.
We realize now we should have extended the scope of the project to include South Fourth
Street. We will do this via the recommendations of the Plan. We will also include a site
development ordinance in the Plan's Goals and Objectives.
The Committee discussed refining the Plan's Goals and Objectives, combining them with
Fischer and Associates' streetscape visuals, and making presentations to various entities
around the community such as the Chamber of Commerce.
Larry discussed with the Committee the need to designate South First as a primary or
arterial route and the need to lobby MDT for total reconstruction of the underpass
because of the problems that are occurring there.
Cal passed out a Draft Plan Format which included Goals and Objectives as we have
refined them over the life of the study.
Invoices for Fischer and Associates ($4,714.00) and Cumin Associates ($2,145.00) were
presented. Kathleen motioned for approval with Gay seconding; motion carried.
With no other business, the meeting adjourned.
