MINUTES OF AUGUST 23, 2001 MEETING
Members present: Bud Johnson, Kate Stevenson, Stan Jonutis, John Smith, Gay Easton,
Ken Olson, and Steve Klotz representing Larry McCann and the City Public Works
Department; also present Ann Cossitt and Sue Kutzler, Kelly Quirm, and Sandy Fischer--
all of Fischer and Associates.
Meeting was held informally as part of the Laurel Chamber After Hours which, this
month, was hosted by businesses along Main Street, one of the areas of the community
directly involved in the streetscape design program of our TCSP Project. It had been felt
by the OC that this was a good opportunity for outreach to the general public. OC
member Kate Stevenson hosted the meeting at her Main Street business, LeDuc's
Jewelry.
Fischer and Associates had prepared a slide presentation on compact disk and presented it
for the OC and interested members of the public. The presentation reflected their work
on the Main Street streetscape, the creation of the project website, and the actual web
address for accessing the information; they had done a lot of work and the website is very
thorough. Summary booklets with the presented information were also available for
review. Other parts our TCSP Planning Project can be added into the website when
prepared, and Fischer and Associates also creating a community bulletin board that will
provide interactive oppommities for the public and the City of Laurel--all of which will
revert to Laurel after Fischer completes their portion of the work.
The next meeting of the OC will be Thursday, September 13~, our regular meeting date.
