Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on Feb. 12th at The Chamber,5:30 pm. In attendance were: Executive Board
Members: VP- Molly Conrad and executive secretary- Marcia Hafner. Directors: Monna Rae Adickes, Holly
Anderson, Donnie McVee, Monica Plecker,Amanda Powell, and Annie Seaman. Members: Mary Lou Batalden.
Molly called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve- Holly, rd - Monica.
The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment(induding the cost to GoDaddy to
host a new wordpress website): moved to approve-Annie,2nd- Monna Rae.
Old BUSINESS
• Committee Members - Lists were passed out.
• Annual Meeting Report - The Chamber earned $3097.00 from the raffles, silent auction
and the 50/50.
New BUSINESS
• New Members- Grounds to Gable Home Inspection Service, Inc.
• Scholarship Fund - Zada & Christy were not present, so we will discuss this next month.
• Grant from State Farm - Amanda was not present, so this will be discussed next month.
• Governor's Conference on Tourism - The board approved sending Marcia. It was
budgeted in this year's budget. Move to approve- Holly, 2nd-Monna Rae. Approved.
• Moving Money to Savings - We discussed moving some money into savings. $5000.00 was
approved, but only if the interest is higher in the Savings account. Moved to approve-
Donnie, 2nd- Monna Rae. Approved. It was also included in the motion to close the
checking at Altana and transfer that $25 into savings at Altana.
OPEN FORUM
• Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new.
• Need for Temporary Housing - BN is moving 30 families into Laurel, CHS is having a 2
year turn around and the new owners of the Pelican is closing the RV Parking.
• Cell Tower for the 4th - Monica brought up that we need a special use permit and it has
to be turned into the city in time to pass the council. Marcia will contact Cellular Plus.
• Business after Hours -.
o March 19th - Laurel Loco Express
o April 16th - MasterLube
o May- Home based businesses

OLD BUSINESS
• New Roof-The new roof is on the Chamber.
• Scholarship Fund - Christy will report.
• Grant from State Farm -Amanda F. will report.
• Montana Conference on Tourism - Because of Marcia's knee, she will not be going. Registration
fee will be refunded.
• Money to Savings-The interest rate is a little higher on our checking account then in savings.
.05% compared to .03% Do we still want to move that money?
• Website- New website is completed, but not published. Arrange to preview.
NEW BUSINESS -
• July 4th Committee - Report on meeting with the city.
