CIP is an integral part of the budget process. · Each department submitted two CIP proposals. Department Head Meeting Minutes of October 1, 2002 · Discussion to schedule day for department heads to evaluate the CIP proposals · Department head workshop scheduled for Tuesday, October 22nd, at 1:00 p.m. Laurel City Voice · Deadline for submitting articles to Cindy changed to November 1 st · Need pictures and information about the chip seal project · Bring draft articles on October 22na for review process · Information needed for Laurel City Voice issue in November 1. Jean will attend meeting on October 15th at 4:00 p.m. Research to see if resources available for video arraignments Library, · Peg attended workshop on Library Foundations. · Bill Pratt, a private consultant in Helena, a member of the FWP Foundation, and a member of the Carroll College Foundation spoke at the workshop. · Peg will present information at pre-council on October 15th. · Peg will present job descriptions to the Library Board before reviewing with employees. Ambulance · Jan will attend round-table discussion on Wednesday. · Care 1 is not in the shop yet; hopefully, repairs will be done next week. · Found an ambulance to use at no cost · Must check with MMIA to see if ambulance is covered by insurance if not rented Police Department · Rick contacted Nancy Singleton. · Joint meeting could be scheduled on the school district's agenda: second and fourth Mondays of every month. · Job descriptions are read and signed. · Work done on heating system; quotes received to upgrade with digital controls; will submit to Budget/Finance Committee · Draft copy of revised policy and procedure manual completed; citizen complaint section needs to be added · Rick leaves for IACP on Thursday and returns on Friday, October 11th. · Rick leaves for the academy around January 8th; academy lasts ten weeks Department Head Meeting Minutes of October 1, 2002 PERS Workshop · PERS Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th, at the Fire Hall - 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. · Flyers and sign-up sheets distributed to department heads · Not mandatory - educational · Flyers will be included as payroll stuffer before workshop · Employees paid while attending workshop · School district and other government employees are invited Website · Links can be done for departments · Need information from departments · Website is not elaborate Money for Enhanced 911 · $60,000 available · State may take money · Getting E-911 plan finished by first of year CIP discussion · Council to decide on purchase of northeast comer of storage lot at shops · Making that choice would eliminate other choices; need more discussion regarding choices · Recommendations need to come to council from department heads · Excellent opportunity to have discussion regarding direction and choices The meeting adjourned at 4:44 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Council Secretary 4
