Hazardous material · Janitor has submitted MSDS information. Job description update · Library Board will review job descriptions at their meeting tonight. · Mayor will do department head job description reviews. · Give signed job descriptions to Mayor or Matt. Information on school zone at Broadwater School · Matt received information on school zones in Billings. · Speed limits are 35/25 mph unless posted. · Matt will present at council workshop tonight. Procedure to release employee information · Mayor and Matt will review with Dick Larsen next week. Process for employee files · Mayor and Matt will review with Dick Larsen next week. Fire protection · Regarding county ban on burning · Rob suggested meeting with the county commissioners regarding this. · Mayor suggested putting issue on upcoming joint meeting. · Joint meeting scheduled for October 24th at DJ's at 5:30 p.m. Department Head Meeting minutes of October 8, 2002 · See Cheryll to put item on agenda. · Mike attended county commissioners meeting today; ban to be lifted at midnight tonight. Discussion on lot purchase · Council approved resolution to proceed with purchase of lot at the shop storage lot. · Other choices would be eliminated. · Public Works submitted recommendation with usability factors for department · Storage lot has set of stands, a building with three bays, fence, water, and heat. · Need discussion regarding other things that could not be done if this purchase is made. · Discussion regarding capital investment · Suggestion to use a state loan to purchase thc lot to lessen impact on potential CIP fund · Opportunity to purchase is available now - timing needs to be considered · Suggestion to use for animal shelter, storage, vehicles, ambulance addition · Discussion regarding consequences if private party purchases thc lot · Discussion regarding needs: expansion, storage, animal control, and work areas · Mayor asked for previous documentation of requests of these needs. · State's figures of property value doubled after first evaluation was done; another appraisal in process · If we purchase the storage lot, a clearly defined plan needs to be determined. · Discussion regarding the building across the alley · Need for storage space or usable office space · Timeline: wait for reappraisal and written comments from department heads · State requires 90% of the appraisal price · Mayor asked interested department heads to develop a proposal and let him know when it is ready. · Discussion on lot purchase on next department head agenda CJIN Terminal · Mike will remind Rick about this.
