Review of committee minutes
· No committee minutes to review
SRO review · Jay Hatton gave presentation to school board on Monday night.
· SRO presentation to council on November 6t~
Hazardous material
· No discussion
Job description update
· Library Board is reviewing job descriptions - changes may be needed
o Mayor recommended reviewing current library job descriptions with employees
o Changes to the library job descriptions can be made later if needed
· Rick and Mary have completed job description reviews.
School zone
· Information on school zone at Broadwater School will be presented to Public Works
Committee for a recommendation.
· Discussion regarding School Transportation Plan
o Mayor will call school superintendent.
o Mayor will copy pages of School Transportation Plan for school.
Procedure to release employee information
· Matt will schedule meeting with Dick Larsen and Mayor.
Process for employee fries
· Matt will schedule meeting with Dick Larsen and Mayor.
Fire protection
· Agenda item for Joint Council, Commissioners, and School Board meeting on Thursday,
October 24th
Discussion on lot purchase
· Must be assured there is no hazardous material in lot

· Rick is working on this grant issue.
COPS Grant for equipment
· CJIN money will come from an equipment grant.

Rick will attend academy January 12 - March 21, 2003
Intake bid opening on October 18th at 3:00 p.m. at City Hall
Mayor will have CIP information before next Tuesday
o Pat Murtaugh to do public hearing as part of his contract
· Opportunity for questions at mill levy presentation at council meeting tonight
· Sunflower Jamboree - sponsored by Moms on a Mission at St. Anthony's Parish Hall on
Saturday, October 19th
· Rick attended IACP (International Association of Police Chiefs) conference in
Minneapolis last week; attended classes on task forces and citizen complaints;
approximately 14,000 delegates attended; visited with vendors about equipment and
grants
· Discussion regarding feedback after department head presentations at council workshops
- particularly the motorcycle presentation; need to present a firm proposal with a timeline
for the council
· Matt will present ordinances at council workshop on October 29th.
· Discussion regarding putting code book on CD
· Library will open at 9:00 a.m. beginning Thursday, October 17th
o Change when employees work, but will not change the number of hours worked
· Striping is done at the library and FAP; other areas will be done soon
· Rick reported on use of video cameras at the school.
· Jay Hatton is working on a grant for surveillance equipment for use at the high school.
· Report on surplus auction: $1,500 received from items sold
· Discussion regarding availability of Associated Glass building
