There was no public in attendance. Cemetery sprinkler bids: Bids were opened on February 5`h. Three bids were received and they are as follows. Contractor Base Bid Add.Alt. 1 Add.Alt.2 Total The Good Earth Works Co. $ 165,175.00 $2,800.00 $9,500.00 $ 177,475.00 Great Northern Prop.Services,LLC $ 167,882.00 $3,336.00 $ 7,206.00 $ 178,424.00 Thompson Contracting,Inc. $225,785.00 $ 8,800.00 $25,000.00 $259,585.00 Alternate 1 is for the landscaped boulevard south of the road and Alternate 2 is the grass around the maintenance building. Great West reviewed the bids and the low bid by The Good Earth Works Co. meets the specifications. Kurt said the specs were written for four sprinkler heads but he has determined that we will need six. We will have to purchase two additional heads. Review cemetery budget: Tom said we have$213,000.00 in the cemetery budget and this will leave$35, 525.00. We need to purchase two additional heads, change the VFD and rewind the pump. We have a quote from Ace Electric for$19,500 to change the VFD but we will have to go out for RFP. Tom would like to leave some seed money for other projects that come up. A motion was made by Chuck and seconded by Dick to recommend to the council to accept the bid from Good Earth Works Co. in the amount of$177,475.00 and to purchase two additional sprinkler heads. Motion carried. Kurt does not recommend getting the remote start since the crew will need to check the screens on a daily basis and oil the pump when necessary. Cemetery Signage: In May 2014, Tom asked the committee to set priorities. Signage and road naming were items on the list. There was discussion regarding marking the sections and Kurt said any posts or markers used to identify the sections become a maintenance issue. He suggested painting this information on the curbs. He would try to get rubber templates that could be used to repaint the curbs when necessary. This marking would not be visible when there is snow but it would be the most economical solution, for the time being. There was also discussion about naming the roads. Other: The commission previously agreed to removal of a tree that is disturbing a headstone. ProRover was paid to do it when doing other work in the cemetery and he missed doing it. He will get it done shortly. Cemetery Commission Page 2,February 10,2015 The city will purchase a cement mixer and the crew will pour the headstones for the baby graves in the next two weeks. Tom said he would like the following items on the agenda for a meeting on April, 14,2015. The items are the extension of the culvert, signage for roads, location of headstones in relation to curbs, tree removal where roots are upsetting headstones and a construction update. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, Cathy Gabrian
