June 18, 2002 3:00 P.M.

1. Unclaimed property - Department of Revenue letter
· Explanation of letter from Department of Revenue regarding abandoned or unclaimed
property since 1993
· Payroll and claims warrants that have not been redeemed
· City must make an attempt to reissue unclaimed warrants - $50 threshold
· State of Montana created the Abandoned Property Audit Program in 2001; Montana Code
Annotated, Chapter 70, Title 9
· Department heads to search departments for abandoned or unclaimed property
· Deadline is July 30, 2002
· All abandoned or unclaimed property must be sent to the State of Montana after that date.
2. 4t~ of July discussion
· Rick's request for Mayor Johnson to allow overtime for police officers on July 3ra and 4th
· Only 7 police reserves on roster at this time
· Explanation of possible problems during holiday
· Rick will meet with LVFD and will contact Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office for
back-up support for July 3ra and 4th

City should receive new mill levy value from Department of Revenue by July 8th
Discussion regarding final adoption process - budget adoption deadline is August 12th
Mayor prefers Final Budget to be adopted before August

Larry will check with Morrison-Maiefle regarding presentations at the Committee of the
Whole on July 2na and July 16t~.
