ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.08.010 OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO LICENSING REQUIREMENTS.
WHEREAS, changes have been recommended to bring the Laurel City Code into
compliance with state laws; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the residents of the City of Laurel to pass such an
ordinance;
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, that the
LAUREL MUNICIt'AL CODE is hereby amended as is set forth below.
Chapter 6.08.010 shall be amended as follows:
6.08.010 Licensing requirements.
Dogs shall be licensed on or before December 31*t of each year, subject to the
exception that owners or possessors of newly acquired dogs or dogs brought into
the city shall obtain a license for such dog within thirty days after bringing such
dog into the city and the owners or possessors of puppies or young dogs shall
license such dogs within the time prescribed by state statute. (Ord. 97-2 § 4 (part),
1997; prior code § 7.04.030)
This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final passage by the City
council and approved by the Mayor.
