BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE
MAY 1, 2002 7:00 P.M.

The Budget/Finance Committee meeting was called to order by Chairman Ken Olson, at
7:03 p.m., to discuss the following preliminary budgets:
Fire Department
Sewer Plant
City/County Planning
Fireman's Relief Association
Sewer System
Fire Chief Terry Ruffreviewed the Fire Department budget with the committee, and
included a list of capital projects. Discussion ensued throughout the presentation.
Butch Riptey, President of the Fireman's Relief Association presemed the committee
with an actuarial fi.om 2000. He stated that the laws have changed regarding the levying
of mills for the association under MCA 19-18-503. Discussion was held during the
presentation.
Utility Plants Superimendent Duke Nieskens presented the Sewer Plant and Sewer
Systems budgets. Lengthy discussion was held regarding this fund. No revenue increase
is budgeted at this time.
The City/County Planning Fund budget was distributed to the committee, but not
reviewed at this meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m. This was the last scheduled meeting for preliminary
budgets. The next regular Budget/Finance Committee meeting will be Monday, May 6,
2002 at 7:00 p.m.
