Subject: District Meetings

It is time to begin preparing the package of bill drafts and policy positions the League of
Cities and Towns will support when the Legislature convenes next winter in Helena. The
District Meetings are the first step down this road, and we rely on these discussions in the
city and town halls across Montana to gather the comments and suggestions that are the
foundation of the League's Legislative program.
The following is the District Meeting schedule for the week of May 13:
District #5 Monday May 13 1:00 P.M. City Hall Lewistown
District #11 Tuesday May 14 10:00 a.m. City Hall Billings
District #12 Wednesday May 15 9:30 a.m. City Hall Miles City
District #4 Wednesday May 15 2:30 p.m. City Hall Glendive
District #3 Thursday May 16 9:30 a.m. City Hall Glasgow
*District #2 Thursday May 16 2:30 p.m. City Hall Havre
I have worked with the District Directors to set up these meetings and we are hopeful that
Mayors, Council Members, Clerks and other staff members will take the time to share
their ideas about what the League can do to protect and promote the financial interests
and management authority of local governments during the 2003 Legislature.
*We hold two meetings in District #2 because there is no central location in this vast area
that is convenient for all the cities and towns. This meeting is for Big Sandy, Chinook,
Harlem and Havre. A later meeting will be held in Conrad or Shelby for the other
members in District 92.
