Minutes
Minutes for August 2014 were read.Alan motioned the minutes be approved as read,Rose Marie
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Correspondence
Montana State Library sent out the state aid checks to public libraries this week.State aid amounts are
determined by per capita/per square mile counts at about $0.40 per person. Our amount came to
$2,384.32 for FY15.
Circulation Report
Traffic: down 20.7%;circulation: all items circulated totaled 2,725 (including 226 eBooks),book
circulation was down 19.57%,media circulation was down 37.16%,eBook checkouts for this month was
9.3%of total book circulation; computers: internet use was down 18.05%,children's use was down
48.48%,wi-fi use up 30.86%;patron cards: not available at this time.There were 60 recorded
technology assists for August.
Old Business
Our fall Federation meeting is scheduled for Saturday,September 13,2014 at the Billings Public Library.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend.The meeting is scheduled 10:00 am—3:00 pm.CE training will
be about new technologies available to consumers and possible methods of increasing broadband in
libraries at lower costs.
Director evaluation forms were given to each Board member for evaluating the library Director and
commenting on areas they feel are okay or need improvement.The forms were given to the Board Chair
for compilation.The results will be discussed at the October meeting.
Job description updates are still ongoing.
New Business
Nancy will be taking some scheduled sick leave September 16th— 18th for a medical biopsy.The extra
days are for recovery from the procedure.
The MSC fall meeting is being held in Helena,September 26th&27th.Nancy is planning on attending the
big meeting on Saturday as well as some smaller meetings on Friday morning and afternoon.
Fall Workshops are being offered by the Montana State library on September 28th&29th.Again,Nancy
is planning on attending trainings being offered for library directors.Since this puts Nancy out of the
office and working through the weekend, she will compensate her time by taking off a few hours here
and there.

at 6:37 pm.
