Meeting called to order at 1900 by Chairman John Smith.
Members presern were;Bob Spannagle,Bob Western,and Bill Brennan.
Guests present aze listed separately.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
No bills were available to be presented.
Craig Canfield reported that we have applied for a grant for Phase II construction.This includes
new taxiway constnrcrion,old taxiway rehabilitation,and pazking ramp expansion and
reconstruction.
Chairman Smith has notified atl hangar owners of our invent to discuss annexation at this meeting
and it seemed like they were all there plus reenforcments.Cal Cumin presented reasons why
annexation would be desirable.We would have zoning cornrol for one mile around the Airport.
Airport rules enforcement would be simplified as they would be city ordinances.City services
would be available for future business expansion.The State would continue to maintain thier
affected road[Buffalo Trail],but the ownership caze and upkeep of our section of the Laurel
Airport road is presently in limbo.
Most of the hangar owners expressed thier definite opposition to annexation. Some of the
objections stated were that the Authority might lose it's autonomy ??.Most dorn want sewer or
water service although they were informed that they would be charged nothing unless they got
hooked up.Dont want City laws or taxes.Womes about firture S.LD.s,etc.
The Airport Auyhority does not require tennant approval to seek annexation.
There will be no meeting in February.
