Police:
Chief Mnsson reported that funding for the Communications 1I position has been cut
from the budget. Rick stated that they are still working on a motorcycle patrol program.
There has been no report from the federal government for the School Resource Officer
grant. Rick reported that meetings regarding the SRO will be held July 31 and August 6.
Smokey Staud'mger commented on kids in the pool after it is closed. He stated that it is
very dangerous because we would have a hard time responding to a problem because of
the locked gates. ChiefMusson responded that the on duty officer checks the pool.
AmbuLance:
Jan stated that the CPR mannequins were not available from MRL. Jack Gabrian will
work on this. Jan is applying for a $500 Wal-Mart grant for stuffed animals for pediatric
patients. Jan reported that the Laurel Volunteer Ambulance staffwas on standby for the
Montana State Games. The boundaries for the district are set for the maps. Ambulance
districting was discussed. Jan said that one of the ways to fund the ambulance is by
making it an enterprise fund. She stated that Bob Brown fxom Livingston could come
and talk to us if so desired. Discussion followed and the cotma~ittee directed Jan to invite
Bob Brown to come to the next meeting.
Fire:
Chief Terry Ruffhad nothing to report on at this time.
Other Business:
Lauren brought up the siren test. He had heard comments from people living in the area
that the sound was annoying. He questioned the reason for the test. ChiefMusson
reported that it was to insure that the siren works.
There was no further business and the meeting was adjourned.
