COUNCIL CHAMBERS P~S~T: William Staudmger Dan Dart Charlie Pratt Pat Krmmet Staff: Rick Musson, Police Chief; Terry Ruff, Fire Chief Jan Faught, Ambulance Director The meeting was called to order by Co-Chairman Staudinger at 5:30 p.m. Police: Chief Rick Musson reported that they are m the process of hiring a dispatcher and hope to have one chosen by this Friday. They are also advertismg for an additional police officer since Officer Hatton has begun his duties as the SRO. The position was advertised internally with the union first, with no respondents, so now they are in the process of advertising externally, with applications due m to the city by October 12~', and testing on October 27~'. Ambulance: Director Jan Faught stated that she has been trying to comact Bob Brown of Livingston to talk about the ambulance becoming an enterprise fund. Ken has been trying to contact Whitefish about ambulance districts. She would like to get these reps together to gather information on those issues. There is still trouble with the tires on the new ambulance, and Care 2 won't shift into high gear. The mannequins are still not located, and there has been no word from Wal Mart regarding the grant for stuffed animals. Jan will try to get Mr. Brown to come to the next meeting. Jan was asked if the tires were under warranty, and about how many miles were on those tires. She stated that they were told that the tires were not under warranty, but they do not have that many miles on them. Jan also stated that the air conditioner was under warranty, so it has been fixed. Fire: Fire Chief Terry Ruff reported that he had received a letter from FEMA stating that there would be no help for equipment, but that there is still a chance on getting assistance for a new track. Terry also reported that the department has finally received the thermal mmger that was ordered last June, and he brought it along for the counmttee to see. Training with the imager will begin tomorrow night. Terry explained some of the features and capabilities of the imager. Rick mentioned that the Police Department could use an imager at times. There being no other business or reports, the meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m. The next meeting will be on October 22, 2001 at 5:30. Respectfully submitted, William Staudmger
