The school resource officer and administrators from Billings Senior High School, Chief Musson, Dave Ward, Doug Neihart, Al McMilan and various members of the committees attended the meeting. Four students present at the meeting provided important input. In the beginning, some obstacles were encountered with having a school resource officer at Billings Senior High, but it has since become a positive situation. Ken stated that he was impressed and had a positive feeling about the SRO program. Larry McCann met with Bob Fisher, the branch overseer for the Department of Natural Resources, to review some grant applications and to look at the intake. Larry also met with Larry Robson of the Corps of Engineers, Mr. Becker, and Tom Hughes regarding the intake. The Corp is still in the process of issuing a permit to dig in the river. Larry explained to the Corp that the ramp has been taken out of the river, but the berm will not be taken out until the river changes. Both groups are adamant about the need to complete preliminary engineering for a second intake. Larry contacted SRF in Helena regarding using the balance of the money for a second intake, and a letter will be sent to SKF.
