Legislative District Meetings _
June 5, 2000
I have scheduled District Legislative Meetings for Eastern Montana for June 12, 13 and
14. The purpose of these meetings is to update members on bills passed during the
Special Session, and to solicit comments on municipal policies and lobbying strategy for
the 2001 Legislature.
The District Directors have agreed to the following meeting schedule:
District gl 1 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 12 City Hall Billings
District #12 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 13 City Hall Miles City
District #4 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 13 City Hall Glendive
District # 10:00 A.M., Wednesday June 14 City Hall Glasgow
These meetings are the first step in putting together the package of policies and positions
cities and towns will support through the League during the 2001 Legislature. When the
regional meetings are complete, the Legislative Committee will review your suggestions
and submit a final report to the membership at the annual conference.
We start out on the road, because it is vitally important to understand how members
across the state feel about various issues. We need your opinions and ideas to put
together a Legislative package that represents your interests, and I hope to see good
representation from cities and towns across Eastern Montana at the meetings next week.
