Tour of Sewer Plant:
The committee took a tour of the sewer plant.
Recycling:
Dan Koch did a little research on a recycling place in Laurel called Collective Recyclers. He stated that
they accept everything that is recyclable except plastic. They do not except plastic because Republic
Services charges them to pick up the plastic. Kurt he will call the Public Works Director in Billings to see
how they benefit from recycling, and what they do as far as plastic recycling. Dan will call Albertson's
and IGA in Billings to see who pays for the recycle containers that are sitting outside their businesses.
Other:
There was discussion about the boat that was purchased to survey and sonar the Yellowstone River to
design the new water intake at a location three miles upstream. Kurt stated that FEMA authorized the City
to build an intake in the river three miles up. He said we have no way to survey the river to select a
location without a boat. He stated that, if FEMA was going to approve the move of the intake, then the
City would have to have a water craft to go up the river to do the survey. Kurt stated that FEMA will
reimburse the City for that.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
