MINUTES OF THE LAUREL CITY - COUNTY PLANNING BOARD
May 8, 1975
A meeting of the Laurel City- County Planning Board was
called to order by Larry D. Herman, acting Chairman, on May 8,
1975, at 7:30 p.m., with the following members present:
Henry Gomer (City Representative)
Larry D. Herman (City Representative)
John Smith (City Representative)
Robert Dantic (City Representative)
Donald Ronan (County Representative)
R. M. Williams (County Representative)
Leo Kamp (County Representative)
Nominations were opened for President of the Board.
John Smith was nominated as President of the Laurel City -
County Planning Board. There being no further nominations,
nominations closed and John Smith was elected to serve as President
of the Laurel City- County Planning Board.
Nominations were opened for Vice - President of the Board.
Donald Ronan was nominated as Vice - President. There being no
further nominations, the nominations closed and Donald Ronan
was elected to serve as Vice - President of the Laurel City -
County Planning Board.
Nominations were opened for Executive Secretary of the Board.
Larry D. Herman was nominated to serve as Executive Secretary.
There being no further nominations, the nominations were closed.
Larry D. Herman was elected to serve as Executive Secretary of
the Laurel City- County Planning Board.
Jim Dixon presented his petition for annexation to the City
of Laurel of Lots 5, 6, portion 7, portion 13, 14 and 15, Block 13,
Hageman Subdivision. Mr. Dixon presented proof of ownership and
a plat of the area proposed to be annexed. Mr. Dixon asked that the
area sought to be annexed be indicated as commercial. Discussion
followed. John Smith moved that it be recommended to the City
of Laurel that the area proposed to be annexed be annexed with
a Zone designation of C -2 and that the alley in Block 13 of
Hageman Subdivision be abandoned upon annexation. The motion was
seconded by Donald Ronan. Discussion followed. Upon a vote of
members present, motion carried.

John Smith gave a report on the visit he and Larry D.
Herman had to the Billings - Yellowstone City- County Planning Board.
Discussion of proposed By -Laws to be adopted by the Laurel
City- County Planning Board was held. After some discussion it was
decided that the Board should adopt By -Laws similar in nature to
those used by the Billings - Yellowstone City- County Planning Board.
John Smith moved that Alan Richardson be elected as the
Member -At -Large on the City- County Planning Board. The motion
was seconded by R. M. Williams. There being no further nomina-
tions, the nominations closed and Alan Richardson was elected
to be the Member -At -Large of the Laurel City- County Planning
Board constituting the ninth member.
Leo Kamp reported that he would contact the County Attorney's
office and have them prepare a proposed agreement to be signed
by the City of Laurel and the County of Yellowstone creating a
Joint Laurel - Yellowstone City- County Planning Board.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
