Otto J. Preikszas, Exec. Secty (City Rep.) Tom Bradley (City Rep.) R. M. Williams (County Rep.) James Seaton (County Rep.) Leo Kamp, Jr. (County Rep.) Kenneth Christian (County Rep.) Jack Mayes (City Rep.) Gerald Shay (Member -at- Large) absent: Ed LaPrath (County Rep.) William Siegel, V. Pres. (City Rep.) also present: John MacMartin, Cumin Assoc., Billings Murr S. Isaacs, City Eng. Tech. Byron A. Guenthner, 1227 Deerhorn Dr., Laurel Robert Leigh, Leigh Assoc., Denver, Colorado Marion R. Hough, Jr., 616 8th Avenue, Laurel Minutes of February 9th meeting approved as mailed out. Bill from Eng. /Bldg. Dept. for Administrative Services, March, $150 approved for payment. John MacMartin apologized for Fox' representatives who were unable to attend due to conflicting appointments. BYRON GUENTHNER asked about rezoning the NE /corner of 4th Avenue and West 1st. Presently it is zoned R2. Mr. Guenthner wants to zone it commercial. He wanted the feeling of the board about the change. Random helpful. Discussion was held to advise him of procedure. RE: PB #78-2 HOUGH: Annexation has been requested on 275' x 115' NE /corner NENESE, Sec. 8, Twp 2S, R24E, Yellowstone County, with a zone designation of R1. General location of the property is 616 8th Avenue, Laurel, Montana, being contiguous to the city of Laurel. Discussion of orientation of lots if to be annexed. It is an inconvenient size and shape. The question is how to best fit this plat into the city. Poll of board unanimously favorable if presented with a survey and layout of annexation by a surveyor for layout into three (3) building sites. Recommendation to be sent to council. Bob Leigh was introduced. Map of arterial, urban col- lectors, and rural collectors displayed. A transportation concept plan was presented as if we were starting from scratch. Map of alternatives was shown. Consensus seems to be to make -1- n page 2 - minutes Planning Board March 9, 1978 Maryland Lane (east through west) collector all the way from the golf course to east Laurel. 12th Street will stop, coming from the west, at 1st Avenue. 6th Street is a sub - collector. 1st Avenue and Alder Avenue will be arterials with Yard Office Road (Strauch Road) as an arterial in the nebulous future.
