Special meeting called to order by John Hawley Smith,
President, at 7:20 p.m., with the following members present:
John Hawley Smith, President (City Rep.)
Otto J. Preikszas, Exec. Secty (City Rep.)
R. M. Williams (County Rep.)
Kenneth Christian (County Rep.)
Gerald Shay (Member -at- Large)
Ed LaPrath (County Rep.)
Jack Mayes (City Rep.)
absent: Leo Kamp, Jr. (County Rep.)
Tom Bradley (City Rep.)
James Seaton (County Rep.)
William Siegel, V. Pres. (City Rep.)
also present:
John MacMartin, Cumin Assoc., Billings
John MacMartin handed out Land Use Element (LUE) for
immediate study and comment since this will be the handout
for the public hearing May llth.
Discussion of 1st Avenue. Concensus of board was to
leave 1st Avenue residential. Mr. MacMartin is to prcvide
in zoning ordinance for medical and dental clinics in
residential areas.
Ed LaPrath called for dedication of suitable land in
subdivision for parks as distinguished from junk land.
John MacMartin to add more provision for parks in subdivision
regulations.
On a site specific basis buildings on larger lots and
acreages should be spotted so further subdivision into town
lots compatible with extensions of streets and alleys is
possible.
All areas west of railroad south of river as far as
underpass to be designated residential.
Kenneth Christian moved the LUE, with noted revision,
be accepted for the May llth hearing about 7:00 p.m., seconded
by R. M. Williams. Passed.
Discussion of funding for airport planning. Nothing
certain.
