R. M. Williams, Vice Pres. (County Rep.) Otto J. Preikszas, Exec. Sec. (City Rep.) Gerald Shay, Member at Large James Seaton (County Rep.) Kenneth Christian (County Rep.) Mary McCormick (City Rep.) Bus Roberts (City Rep.) Members absent: Ed LaPrath (County Rep.) James Straw (County Rep.) Tom Bradley (City Rep.) Also present: John MacMartin, Cumin Assoc., Billings T. Curtis McKenzie, City Engineer Joyce Johnson Ellen Smith & Rick Smith James Creecy Bob Horning & Jeannie Horning Don Gronli & Jay Gronli Roy Johnson Minutes approved as sent out. Bills approved for payment: Administrative Services $200.00 WEST 9th STREET: Roy Johnson asked to have West 9th Street posted for 25 mph. John MacMartin recommends approval since 9th is proposed as a resi- dential street eventually. Otto Preikszas moved that board write a letter to the Board of County Commissioners recommending speed limit of 25 mph on 9th Street from 8th Avenue to Golf Course Road for safety of pedestrians, especially children and since the road has no shoulders. 9th is proposed as a residential road with Maryland as main collector. Carried. Johnsons, Smiths, Creecy, Hornings and Gronlis in favor of the speed limit. MOBILE HOME COURT: John MacMartin mentioned that Roger Anderson, Rt. 1, Laurel, wants to establish a mobile home court SW of Laurel. Mr. Wold's building in that area may be in violation. This for board information. PARKS: John MacMartin reported on parks plus progress of matching funds request for parks. Williams moved not to exceed $3500 be approved for leveling South Park and doing filling at Murray Park, second by Roberts. Approved. This is to set necessary wheels in motion. The board recommends approval for expenditure of our funds in county for Murray Park towit: 2 tennis courts and maybe sprinkling system to form a basis for obtaining matching funds from Fish & Game.
